In the 2nd European South Atlantic Biophysics Congress (Montpellier, France; 17-19 June 2026), ARBRE co-chaired a session on “Breakthrough Methods in Biophysics” and sponsored the 1st Young ESAB Satellite Meeting.
ARBRE joined forces with the French, Portuguese and Spanish biophysical societies in the organization of the 2nd regional European South Atlantic Biophysics Congress (https://esab2026.cbs.cnrs.fr/). This initiative, kicked off in in Donostia/San Sebastian (Spain) in 2024, attracted more than 300 attendees.
ARBRE member Patrick England (Institut Pasteur, Paris, France) co-chaired a scientific session on “Breakthrough methods in biophysics”, together with Michael Krieg (ICFO, Castelldefels, Spain).
The session included talks by two invited speakers: Nunilo Cremades (Zaragoza, Spain) and Pierre-Emmanuel Milhiet (Montpellier, France).
ARBRE also ran a stand showcasing the association and its activities.
Five ARBRE members were present in the event: Isabel ALVES (Bordeaux, France), Aitziber CORTAJARENA (Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain), Audrey CROUSILLES (Viena, Austria), Patrick ENGLAND (Paris, France) and Adrian VELAZQUEZ-CAMPOY (Zaragoza, Spain).
In addition, ARBRE was proud to sponsor the 1st Young ESAB Satellite Meeting that took place on June 16, showcasing projects and achievements of the new generation of French, Portuguese and Spanish biophysicists (https://esab2026.cbs.cnrs.fr/young-esab-satellite-meeting/)
